I went on a trip with Fenina (with Tita Let and her officemates) to Ilocos last weekend. It was a wonderful and fun experience/adventure. I got to see many historic and significant landmarks like the beautiful ancestral houses of Vigan. Btw, did you know that Nina has an ancestral house in Vigan that has already stood for about a hundred years? Ang yaman ng lola!
I was also able to visit the Our Lady of Manaoag in Manaoag, Pangasinan. I was able to see Marcos” dead body inside his personal freezer. Actually it was kinda creepy to look at him. Hehe! The Marcos” mansion is a big beautiful house (este mansion pala) that faces a beautiful, historical lake. Ganda! Sana dun nalang ako nakatira. Hahaha…
I was also able to witness pottery making in real life. O diba ang drama? It was fascinating to watch a little lump of clay transform into a beautiful piece of art. The Paoay church was also a nice place. It reminded me of Topeng and his expensive camera. Hay buhay sana magkaron din ako ng ganyan!!! The Baluarte, a place built by Chavit Singson was like a miniature zoo. It houses 4 big, cute and cuddly tigers. Asteeg! It was my first time to get real close to one.
We also went to Pagudpud. I tell you, ang layo!!! Sumakit pwet ko. Hehe! But it was worth it, the water was clear, the sand was white, the seaweeds were.. well, green. Hehe! Sa totoo lang, those damn seaweeds hindered me and Nina from swimming to our hearts content. Anlakas pa ng alon (isa rin palang hindrance yun. hehe). But it was a nice place, and I want to come back and experience it without the seaweeds and the mala-tao na alon. Hehe. I will be posting pictures soon.
I’ve been bugging Nina that we go back to Ilocos because we didn’t have digicams on our trip back in 2005. Poor e!
I miss the kwek kwek colored empanada that is rich in cholesterol. I miss the old houses of Vigan. And I want to visit the beautiful windmills that we saw on our way to Pagudpud. Nina, tara! ![]()
